In the beginning of the 12th century the Prince of the Rostov-Suzdal principality Yury Dolgorukiy ordered a town to be built at this principal trade and military cross-road. This decision predetermined the destiny of Moscow as the defender of the Russian Land. It is not by chance that the Moscow coat of arms bears the picture of a mounted warrior killing a dragon, the hero associated with Saint George.";
